SEAFANZ Underwater Photography Workshop, 23rd August 2014

From 3.30pm to 6:30pm at Shed Seven (behind Dive Tutukaka, Tutukaka)

SEAFANZ are offering an afternoon underwater photography workshop after diving on Saturday the 23rd August 2014

This workshop is aimed at amateur photographers who want to learn tips and techniques that will improve their photography and Lightroom post-processing skills.

 This is an afternoon program following diving on Saturday the 23rd August 2014.

All welcome - even if you did not dive.

AGENDA

Colin Gans (one of the Competition judges), will give a 30 minute visual presentation which will cover overall concepts of Under Water Photography including:
   • skills;
   • technique;
   • composition; and
   • what judges look for in an image.

We will then move on to Lightroom: Alex Stammers will be covering the application in a hands-on session under the following headings over 3 hours (with breaks)
1. Introduction to Lightroom
   • Lightroom background how photographers use it.
2. Library mode
   • Importing Images into Lightroom.
   • Key wording images
   • Sorting and cataloguing images
3. Developing Mode
   • White Balance.
   • Tools - Cropping, Graduated Filter, Adjustment brush, etc.
   • Processing tools Exposure, highlights, contrast, clarity, saturation sliders, and more.
   • Black and White and Colour
   • Synchronising photos
4. Back to the Library Mode
   • Rating and organising photos.
   • Exporting photos out of Lightroom as Jpeg to DNG file or for the web.
5. Other parts of Lightroom
   • Books, slide show, maps.
6. General questions and help with using the program

If you're planning on attending the workshop you will gain maximum benefit by bringing your own device with Adobe Lightroom installed.
